Natrx, a cutting edge provider of adaptive infrastructure solutions for erosion, and Harbright portfolio company, recently won the Clean Tech Company of the Year (2024) from the North Carolina Technology Association (NC TECH). Natrx’s solution includes: (a) Proprietary remote sensing and artificial intelligence software that pinpoints erosion issues and (2) Physical barriers that protect coastal ecosystems and infrastructure. Natrx’s barriers are made from natural materials using a proprietary binding technology.
The award from NCTA provides further validatation of Natrx’s unique, environmentally helpful services that the company provides to its customers. Natrx’s coastal barriers cost less and are faster to permit and deploy that traditional barrier options.

John Michael Harlow
Founder
John Michael is a successful executive and one of Harbright’s three founding partners. John Michael holds both JD (LSU) and MBA (Duke) degrees. As Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel, he helped build Affordable Care from 65 dental practices in 16 states to 175 offices in 38 states with 1,400 total staff. Affordable Care exited to private equity in 2011. John Michael is Harbright’s managing partner and conducts the firm’s legal and regulatory affairs.
John Michael has raised three wonderful daughters with his wife, Donna. They reside in Clayton, NC.
