Agilix Health

Agilix Health offers remote monitoring and personalized support of diet and nutrition for cancer, maternity, and renal care patients who often face malnutrition and lack proper oversight outside of a hospital setting. Agilix’s solution can improve clinical outcomes and reduce costly complications, hospitalizations, and treatment disruptions derived from poor nutrition and dietary health.

Agilix’s virtual maternal care program, in partnership with Amerigroup Georgia, Uber Eats, and Avesis, reccently achieved exceptional results with 800 Medicaid mothers, including 93% engagement, 80% escalation rate, and 99% satisfaction rate. Most importantly, the study achieved a 15% reduction in C-sections.

Ascyrus Medical

Acquired by Cryolife (now Artivion) in 2020, Ascyrus developed the world’s first medical device (the AMDS) designed specifically to address the unique challenges of acute type A aortic dissection, specifically DeBakey Type I. The design of the AMDS allows for rapid deployment of the graft in the aortic arch during a standard replacement of the ascending aorta, adding < 5 minutes to the procedure time. Deployment of the AMDS preserves the native arch, potentially allowing for the minimally invasive reinterventions, including the repair of additional entry tears, rather than an invasive arch repair. Studies have shown that the AMDS dramatically improves mortality and morbidity outcomes for patients with Type A/DeBakey 1 aortic dissections.

Chekhub

Chekhub is a work enablement software that helps high-growth companies quickly and confidently scale the capabilities of increasingly distributed workforces. Inspired by proven military training procedures, Chekhub’s customizable platform helps refine and standardize processes so they can be repeated by anyone, anytime, anywhere.

Deep Blue Medical

Deep Blue is transforming soft tissue surgery by developing and launching next generation surgical devices for optimal tissue tension, reinforcement, and defect closure. Deep Blue’s product portfolio features the T-Line® Hernia Mesh which offers greater support and reduced risk of recurrence for ventral and other hernias. Deep Blue’s T-Line® TCS* (Tissue Control Suture) is used for breast reconstruction and other soft tissue procedures for safer, more precise repairs.

Flux Hybrids

Flux Hybrids manufactures a hardware + software system that can convert any gasoline-powered car or truck into a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). Flux’s proprietary technology integrates into the vehicle’s drivetrain, significantly improving fuel economy and reducing CO2 emissions. Flux Hybrids is focused on the light to medium-duty fleet vehicle market segment, and its initial product can improve the fuel efficiency of a light-duty pickup truck by 97% in the city and 70% on the highway.

Natrx

Natrx is an innovative climate technology company that has developed proprietary solutions that protect coastal ecosystems and infrastructure. Natrx’s core products include (1) Software, sensors and artificial intelligence that are used to pinpoint erosion and (2) 3D-printed barriers that shield the natural and built environment from the dangers posed by erosion, wind, and wave damage. Natrx’s barriers are easier to permit, last longer, and cost significantly less than current methods of coastal protection.

SonoVascular

SonoVascular is a medical device company that has developed a highly differentiated technology to more effectively and safely treat deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). The company’s SonoThrombectomyTM system has successfully treated patients in its first-in-human (FIH) acute DVT study which is currently enrolling patients in South America. SonoThrombectomy is an ultrasound facilitated, thrombolytic enhanced system that combines therapeutic ultrasound, microbubbles, and low-dose thrombolytic drug, and can optionally include a mechanical retrieval basket.

Voxel

Voxel is a contract manufacturer that uses pulsed electrochemical machining (PECM) to machine high-quality, high-precision metal components. Its advanced manufacturing process is unrivaled in its ability to quickly and accurately machine specialty metal alloys without compromising design complexity or quality. Voxel machines parts for aerospace, law enforcement, defense, medical device, and power industry customers. These well-crafted metal products can be found in a variety of critical applications including orthopedic implants, surgical tools, jet engines, and industrial turbines

ProAxion

ProAxion is a company providing industrial IoT solutions for predictive maintenance. It offers wireless sensors to monitor machinery vibrations, detect issues early, and prevent downtime. Its cloud-based platform analyzes data to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency, serving industries like manufacturing and energy.

6AM City

6AM City provides a daily newsletter to 25 metro markets across the US that creates awareness of local people, businesses, events, and culture. The daily newsletter provides a positive spin on the communities its readers live in, the company has over 1.3M subscribers, and has won numerous awards for its innovation in digital media. 6AM and media conglomerate Tegna announced a partnership in 2023 that would help drive both businesses forward.

Invicta Water

Invicta Water aims to eliminate poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) – also known as forever chemicals – and other high-risk chemicals from water worldwide. Invicta’s proprietary water remediation process utilizes nanomaterials and UV light to destroy PFAS permanently. Invicta’s water cleaning methods are more effective than other remediation options and significantly less expensive. The company has ongoing pilot projects with the cities of Cary, NC and Burlington, NC that show great promise for Invicta’s technology.

PLU Ophthalmic

PLU has developed a minimally invasive, implant-free surgical device that utilizes precise micro-excision technology to reduce intraocular pressure in Glaucoma patients. PLU’s novel technology can improve physician productivity with shorter surgical times, superior ease of use, and minimal learning curve, leading to higher OR throughput and reduced post-operative patient management. PLU’s device has been successfully used in over 10 patients and the company will commercially launch in early 2025.

Altis Biosystems

Altis has developed advanced cell-based assays that accurately recapitulate human biology to bridge the gap between preclinical research and clinical translation. Altis’s assays are reliable and predictive tools that enable faster and more efficient drug discovery and development; leading to accelerated transition of promising therapies from the bench to the bedside. Altis’s assays ultimately improve patient outcomes and reduce animal use in research

VQ Biomedical

VQ Biomedical is pioneering a central-line catheter designed to deliver oxygen directly into the bloodstream, offering a transformative solution for patients suffering from Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). VQ’s catheter-based solution is a simpler, more cost-effective alternative for ARDS than ECMO. VQ’s catheters require no specialized training and are easier to deploy than ECMO. VQ’s catheter can be used as an adjunct to or in lieu of mechanical ventilation. Unlike mechanical ventilation, VQ’s solution poses no harm to the lungs. Once VQ’s technology receives regulatory approval, the device could save tens of thousands of lives per year
